Glossary of terms

Disciple

Who you are—your identity.
Someone who follows Christ, who
is transformed by Christ, and who
is on mission with Christ. (Mt. 4:19).

Disciple-making

What you do—your mission.
Disciple-making is entering into
relationships with lost people,
sharing the gospel, and guiding
them to become followers of Jesus
who listen to and obey God’s
Word. Disciple-making equips
people to make more disciples
who multiply in their families,
communities, and beyond.

Discipleship

How you grow—the process.
Discipleship is learning to hear
God’s voice and obey Him in every
area of life. The process involves
hands-on training to equip and
develop disciples of Jesus through
encouraging a lifestyle of intimacy
with God, surrendered repentance,
walking in the Spirit, and doing the
work of God’s kingdom.

On Mission

How you live — Purpose.
Being dedicated to living out Jesus’
teaching and ministry every day by
partnering with Him in the unique
time, places, and ways that He is
ministering to individuals and
communities.

Small Group

How we gather — Community.
A gathering of typically 4-12 people
who meet regularly to connect and
encourage each other; to build
deeper relationships around Jesus,
spiritual growth, and discipleship;
and to focus on Bible study and
application.

Evangelism

How you share — Invitation.
Intentionally sharing the gospel
message with others through
words supported by loving action.
