What is Listening Prayer?

Listening prayer begins with a simple truth: Jesus is already with you. He promised His Spirit would never leave us. Throughout Scripture, God spoke, not just to prophets and apostles, but to ordinary people. His desire has always been to be with us and to speak with us.

When we realize God is near and His heart is full of love, not judgment or shame, we can rest in His presence. From that place of peace, it becomes easier to hear His voice.

Think of it like a radio signal: God is always broadcasting, through words, images, impressions, or even a quiet sense of knowing. The question isn’t “Is God speaking?” but “Am I tuning in to listen?

Listening prayer is about slowing down, quieting your heart, and paying attention to what God is already sharing.
